Using Microdermabrasion to Erase the Signs of Acne Scars in NJ

One of the most common skin concerns I see in my spa is scarring as a result of breakouts.  Acne can strike at any age leaving tell tale signs of a struggle with unhealthy skin.  Often times, acne scars leave deep wounds on the skin, and sometimes the skin never fully recovers.  There are a few treatments though that can dramatically improve the appearance of skin that has been scarred from Acne.

Microdermabrasion for the Treatment of Acne Scars

NJ Microdermabrasion is a very common and popular treatment for reducing the appearance of acne scars.  One of the reasons this treatment is so popular is because it’s non-invasive.  It is pain-free and there is no down time to recover from a treatment.  Often times all that’s left after a microdermabrasion treatment is a little redness on the surface of the skin.

Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin consisting of built up dead skin cells).  Also referred to as microderm, this powerful and progressive skin re-surfacing technique targets and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, superficial scarring, stretch marks, acne, and sun damage.

Many times microdermabrasion is thought of as an anti-aging treatment, because of its deep exfoliation capabilities, but this is also an excellent remedy for smoothing out scarred skin.  Over a period of treatment sessions, microdermabrasion slowly erases the top layer of skin, allowing smoother skin below to finally surface.  Acne scarring can often become less visible as a result of the most affected layers being slowly buffed away over time.

Microdermabrasion may be the answer you are looking for to improve your acne scarring.  A consultation will determine if this is the best course of treatment for you.
